There will be a series of launch events for the spring issue of REVIEW: Latin American Literature & Arts, which I Co-Guest Edited with Ksenija Bilbija. The theme is Beyond Violence: Toward Justice, and includes work by, among others, Patricio Pron, Luisa Valenzuela, Juan Gabriel Vasquez, Yuri Herrera, and Alicia Borinsky, who will all be present with us at Americas Society (Park & 68th St., Manhattan) on May 8 and/or May 15. LASA (Latin American Studies Association) this year takes place in Chicago, May 21-24. I’ll be chairing one of the Presidential Panels, Memoria y Política: Enlaces en Literatura/Memory and Politics: Linkages in Literature, and the participants are stellar: Alicia Borinsky, Lisa Rose Bradford, Arturo Fontaine, Alberto Moreiras, and Alice Nelson.
